On October 12, 2022 at 6:39 pm, the Wilmington Police Department responded to a two-car motor vehicle crash on Main Street near the Woburn Line. Upon arrival Officers found what appeared to be a head-on collision between a 2019 GMC Yukon and a 2018 Audi A3.

The operator of the GMC, A 44-year-old female from Woburn, sustained serious injuries.

The operator of the Audi, a 33-year old Lowell man, sustained critical injuries. He will be charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Speeding, Open Container Violation, and Failure to Use Headlights. He will be arraigned at Woburn District Court at a future date.

Both operators needed to be extricated from their vehicles by the Wilmington Fire Department and were subsequently transported to Lahey Clinic.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wilmington Police Department and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

Lowell Man To Be Charged After Main Street Crash
