PRESS RELEASE: Wilmington Police Investigating Fatal Crash Involving a Pedestrian

On August 29, 2022 at 1:22 pm, the Wilmington Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of 211 Lowell Street. It was reported that a male party was struck by a vehicle while walking in the parking lot. Upon arrival at the scene, units found the victim to be a 79 year old Tewksbury man. He was transported to Lahey Clinic by ambulance where he later died. The driver, a 60-year-old, Reading woman remained on scene. The incident is currently under investigation by the Wilmington Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section.
