Thank you to all community members, families, and first responders who assisted in efforts to help the young man who passed away at Silver Lake yesterday. We understand this is a difficult time for many and would like to offer emotional support for those seeking those services.

Tonight, Thursday, August 30th from 3:30pm-7:00pm and tentatively Tuesday, September 4th from 3:30pm-7:00pm there will be counselors available for one-on-one private conversations about coping, witnessing a trauma, or how to hold age appropriate conversations with young children. Due to everyone’s various reactions and emotions around witnessing trauma, we ask that only witnesses, bystanders, and yesterday’s beach goers attend Thursday evening’s session. Tuesday will be open to the community at large.

Services will be available, free of charge, at the Wilmington Public Safety Department (1 Adelaide St.), first room on the right. If you would like to speak to someone privately or cannot make either night, please reach out to WPD Social Worker, Samantha Reif, at 978-658-5071.

These resources are being provided in partnership with the Town of Wilmington and Riverside Trauma Center. Please see further resources for you or your family member at https://riversidetraumacenter.org/trauma-center-resources/
