The Wilmington Police Department is proud to announce that we will be offering a R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) Women’s Self-Defense course this June. This nationally recognized program empowers women through education and practical training in self-defense tactics and techniques.
The course will be held over four sessions: June 2, 4, 9, and 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each evening. All classes will be taught by certified R.A.D. instructors from the Wilmington Police Department.
This comprehensive program is open to women ages 15 and older and begins with a strong foundation in awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance strategies. From there, the course progresses into hands-on physical defense instruction designed to give participants the tools and confidence to defend themselves effectively in real-world situations. No prior self-defense experience is required.
Class size is limited, and preference will be given to women who live or work in Wilmington. We strongly encourage early registration to reserve your spot.
