The Wilmington Police Department proudly participates in the SafetyNet Tracking™ Program, a life-saving initiative designed to assist families and caregivers in locating loved ones who are prone to wandering due to conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, or other cognitive impairments.
How the Program Works
SafetyNet employs state-of-the-art technology that enables public safety agencies to quickly and efficiently locate individuals who have wandered away. Participants in the program are equipped with a personalized tracking bracelet that emits a radio frequency signal. If a participant goes missing, trained officers from the Wilmington Police Department use specialized tracking equipment to locate and bring the individual home safely.
Benefits of the Program
- Rapid response and recovery to reduce the risk of harm.
- Enhanced peace of mind for families and caregivers.
- Trusted, proven technology supported by trained public safety professionals.
The SafetyNet Tracking Program underscores the Wilmington Police Department’s commitment to the safety and well-being of all community members, particularly those who are most vulnerable.
