On July 28, 2022 at approximately 5:30 pm, Wilmington Police Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle that had crashed into a home on Shawsheen Avenue. 911 callers reported that the blue pickup truck had fled the scene after striking the house. Officers subsequently located the vehicle and two occupants a short distance away.

After an investigation of the crash, two men were arrested at the scene:

  • Timothy Fortin, 31, of Holyoke, is charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Operating Under the Influence of Drugs, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash, Speeding, Marked Lane Violation, Possession of a Class A Substance, and Possession of a Class B Substance
  • Robert Dupont, 54, of Wilmington, is charged with Possession of a Class A Substance and Possession of a Class B Substance.

Both individuals were transported transported to hospital to Lahey Clinic for medical treatment and released several hours later.  They will be arraigned at Woburn District Court later today.

A exterior porch attached to the Shawsheen Avenue residence was destroyed, but after an evaluation by the Wilmington Building Inspector, the family is still able to remain in the home.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
