COMMUNITY ALERT OF ONGOING ONLINE SCAM

The Wilmington Police Department is currently investigating an online Paypal/Zappos.com email “spoofing scam” involving a local Wilmington resident as the “target”.

The local resident is NOT a suspect in this investigation but his/her information was illegally stolen and is actively being used by the perpetrator(s) to attempt to scam other email users to click a URL link in the body of the email.

If you have clicked on the link and entered any of your personal information into the fraudulent form, your bank or credit card is now compromised.
