On September 26, 2019 at approximately 4:00pm, Wilmington Police Officers investigated the report of a suspicious man in the area of Jefferson Road.  Following the investigation, 31 year-old John Moses of Reading, MA was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entry into a Motor Vehicle in the daytime.  Moses was transported to the Wilmington Public Safety Building to be booked and processed.  During that booking process, Officers searching Moses were exposed to a white powdery substance, which became airborne.  Because of this exposure to the unknown substance, 4 Wilmington Police Officers were transported to Winchester Hospital where they were treated and subsequently released.

Wilmington Fire and the District 6 Hazmat team secured the scene and confirmed that substance tested positive for fentanyl, which they then neutralized.

Moses also face an additional charge of Possession of a Class A Substance at Woburn District Court.
