Traffic Alert – Road Race this Sunday

The Wilmington Police Department would like to notify the public that there is a road race scheduled for this Sunday, June 9 at 10:30 AM. The “5K Run for Recovery, Walk for Wellness” will begin in front of Wilmington High School and will take runners down Wildwood Street, Woburn Street, Federal Street, and then back towards Wilmington High on Middlesex Avenue.

The following road closures will be in effect:

• Church Street will be closed between Adams Street & Middlesex Avenue at approximately 10 AM until the race concludes.
• Wildwood Street will be closed at approximately 10:30 AM from Middlesex Avenue towards Woburn Street. Traffic will be allowed from Woburn Street. The road will reopen once all of the runners are clear from Wildwood Street.
• Federal Street will be closed at approximately 10:40 from Concord Street to Woburn Street. Traffic will be allowed from Woburn Street. The road will reopen once all of the runners are clear from Federal Street.

Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling in the area. Police Officers will be on hand to assist motorists with detour information.
