Community Notification: Speed Zone Change

The Wilmington Police Department wishes to notify the community that The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has approved a change of the Town of Wilmington Special Speed Regulations for Shawsheen Avenue and Hopkins Street in the area of the Shawsheen School.

Motorist are advised that the 25 MPH zones on Shawsheen Avenue has been extended in both directions as vehicles approach the school. The 25 MPH zone on Hopkins Street has also been extended. The Wilmington Department of Public Works has updated all of the signage in the area to comply with the new speed regulations.

We ask all motorist to adhere to the 25 MPH limit in this area.
