On Thursday morning March 22, 2018 at approximately 0500 hours officers from the Wilmington Police Department responded to Jimmy’s Garage located at 945 Main St. in Wilmington for a reported burglar alarm. Officers quickly determined the building had been burglarized and were able to quickly identify a general description of the vehicle involved. A white GMC pickup was used to smash through the front of the store. A short time later, Andover Police responded to a Motor Vehicle Crash into a house on School Street in Andover. The operator of the vehicle fled the scene. The vehicle involved was identified by officers as the vehicle involved in the burglary at Jimmy’s Garage. While investigating the scene in Andover, Andover and Wilmington officers were notified that Tewksbury Police had a break in at a service station in their Town. Evidence recovered at the scene of the Andover crash led investigators to suspect all three incidents were related. Officers from Wilmington, Tewksbury, Andover, Woburn, Boston and Massachusetts State Police are working together to identify the suspect.
